Day 4: Regret Nothing

Welcome back to Day 4 of Healthy Mind Power Week. 7 days of short inspirational reads to get your day (and month) off to a great start! Today, let’s focus on the concept of regret.

“Only put off until tomorrow what you are willing to die having left undone.” -Pablo Picasso

We take for granted that we have time to get things done over the course of our lives. We prioritise our ‘Today’ with work and trying to get ahead in life. Often we put off a social engagement or replying to a text from a friend because we don’t have time. We say, I’ll start that diet, or exercise program tomorrow. I’ll start that course next year. Theres always an excuse, and extremely valid reasons for you delaying things. There’s always next time.

However, we aren’t actually guaranteed tomorrow. We should plan our long term goals based on a long, healthy life but if today were your final day on Earth, what would you do differently? I’m not asking you to take the day off work and go out and tick all the items off your bucket list. I am asking you to consider what is truly important to you.

The Challenge

Today I challenge you to do something or resolve a matter that, if today was your final day, you would regret not doing. Whether it’s Facetimeing a friend you have been putting off, resolving an argument with a loved one, sending a letter, taking a little extra time for yourself, calling your parents, spending ten minutes more with your children, giving out a few extra hugs or simply remembering to tell someone you love them.

Have a fantastic 4th day of the month and I’ll see you back here tomorrow for Day 5 of Healthy Mind Power Week! I would love to hear from you in the comment section below, and don’t forget to subscribe with your email at the bottom of the page!

  1. Yes! To all of this! Today I am working towards packing up my house, so that my husband and I can hit the road to travel full-time. We want to see everything that we can and not have to say “I wish I could have…”

  2. That quote, powerful! You are so right, I put off things alot, such a last minute person. I need to looking into that though and do better. I woukd hate the world end with me not doing some important stuff or leaving people unaware of how they made me feel or who they are to me.
